Money

If you want to feel rich, just count the things you have that money can't buy

An oft faced scenario. We like to buy something or do something which we've always wanted to. But we restrain from doing so because of the "Money" factor. But, Have we ever given a thought to how abstract a concept, money can be?
Consider my scenario. I joined Aditi on 9th July '07. Many of my TCS,PCS friends joined only by November. To me,it means a head start of 4 months salary. 80 k..! BUT, does it mean that i have gained 80k.?Sounds sensible right.? Put it this way. If i also had got my joining date by Nov, would that mean i have lost 80k.! Sounds little absurd..?
Now consider these two scenarios

  • I got my joining date in July. But due to some reasons,it gets postponed and I join my company only by November

  • I join my company by July, get a loan for 60k and buy a Pulsar. And i lose it by November..!

In both the cases, i have lost money. But does it have the same effect on us.?Nooo.. In the second case, the pain that our heart suffers is multi folds.! Is the pain worth having? Is that money worth mourning? Though the first case is a hypothetical one, the possibilty of that scenario to have taken place is not nil.

Seems like money also is just a relative feeling :)

Relativity

When you sit with a beautiful girl, hours seems like minutes.
When you sit on a hot stove, a minute seems like hours.
How neatly put!!!
Putting little more thought into this, we can see that this concept of relativity can be applied to almost anything in our life. There's no "Absoluteness" in our life.
Am i happy? Sounds like an easy question. Is it that simple? Am i happy.? Well, what would make me happy? Will i be happy if my list of wishes are satisfied? What would be a part of my list of wish? A salary of 30k per month? A gorgeous girl friend? Would you believe if i say that everybody's list of wishes is relative.? I would be happy getting 15,000 salary per month. If and only if all my friends are getting a salary of 14,800 per month!! Sounds crazy? Just think. I would be happy having a Pulsar 200cc model. But consider the gradient of happiness. It would be even more great if i am the first person among my friends to have it. Knowingly or unknowingly, we always have a relative feel about everyhing.
